Inspiration: Wynwood Walls
While in Florida, on a mission to find new inspiration, we spent a good portion of our time in the Wynwood area of Miami. If you have not been before, it’s a must see. Wynwood has become a haven for aspiring painters, graffiti artists, and creatives. It’s just around the corner from Miami Beach nestled between Midtown and the Design District. Wynwood Walls is an outdoor exhibit featuring a collection of giant murals covering six buildings. Outside of this particular exhibit, the entire neighborhood has become a blank canvas for famed artists from across the world.
Once a failing neighborhood, Wynwood had its debut at Art Basel 2009 as an open-air art gallery. Today it is sprawling with great places to eat, drink, and see some amazing art by both up and coming and world-renowned artists.
Some of our favorites were. The brothers from Brazil OS Gemeos. West Coast artist Shepard Fairey, Buff Monster, Suturno, and Tristan Eaton.
