Q: What initially sparked your interest in design and illustration?

A: Growing up in Encinitas, surrounded by the ocean and surf and skate community, creativity was always ingrained in my surroundings. Whether it was crafting designs for surf and skate brands or doodling in my sketchbook, I found solace and inspiration in the act of creation.

Q: How did your educational journey shape your career path?

A: Enrolling at Palomar College provided me with the foundational skills and mentorship I needed to embark on my journey. It was there, under the guidance of Steve Miller, that I realized my potential and set my sights on Art Center College of Design, where I further honed my craft and laid the groundwork for my future endeavors.

Q: Can you tell us about your experiences in the apparel industry?

A: My time in the apparel industry was both exhilarating and enlightening. From my early days at JNCO Jeans to my role as an art director at NATco, I gained invaluable insights into the intricate workings of renowned clothing brands, which ultimately shaped my approach to design and branding.

Q: How did your experiences in the apparel industry shape your approach to design and branding?

A: My time in the apparel industry taught me the importance of storytelling and authenticity in branding. Design isn't just about creating visually appealing products; it's about conveying a message and connecting with an audience on a deeper level. This mindset has influenced my approach to design across various industries.

My encounter with William Adler, the founder of Will Leather Goods, was a pivotal moment that fueled my aspirations of founding my own design firm and exploring new creative avenues.

Q: What inspired you to venture into the craft beer industry, and how did it influence your creative process?

Joining Ninkasi Brewery allowed me to combine my passion for design with my newfound appreciation for craft beer. It was an exciting opportunity to explore a different creative landscape and apply my skills to a new industry. Working with the team at Ninkasi, we were able to craft visually stunning designs that complemented the unique flavors and personalities of each brew, pushing the boundaries of traditional beer branding.
